The City of Ridgeland Public Works Department maintains streets, water and sanitary sewers, storm drains and ditches, water tanks, and water wells. The department is also charged with monthly water meter readings, city vehicle maintenance, and the operation of a cemetery. The Community Development Division seeks to enhance the quality of life through its four different divisions.

The Economic Development Division is charged with a purpose of attracting development and redevelopment projects through taking a proactive position at recruiting new businesses as well as working hard to retain Ridgeland’s existing businesses. Members of the Division are committed to working with the collective vision and direction of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen in order to ensure that necessary approvals support the intended character of the community and its economic vitality. Thoughtfully planned land development and economic uses are important for the quality of life in the city.
