A Strong Legislative Voice and Industry Representation

At the local, state and national levels, BOMA International represents your concerns. From local code and real estate concerns, to national legislation on such issues as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), private cable access, or the goal of creating a single uniform set of codes, BOMA protects the interests of the building owner or manager. Through its professional lobbying efforts, BOMA influences legislation and represents your interests before federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Prime Networking Opportunities

Access to the movers and shakers is provided through monthly meetings and events, local membership directories, and newsletters. More than 17,000 BOMA International members are reached through the Annual Convention and the Winter Business Meeting, the Membership Directory Whos Who in the Office Building Industry, and the Buyers Guide of Products and Services.

Professional Designation Program

Nationally recognized designations of Real Property Administrator (RPA), Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA), and Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) are offered through the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI). Local BOMA Associations sponsor on site courses, or they can be completed through independent study.

Timely Education

Local seminars and workshops offer expert speakers on the issues and trends within the changing industry. BOMA Internationals Annual Convention & The Office Building Show highlight the best industry talent from North America through in-depth education seminars and exhibits of emerging technologies and new services.


BOMA is the source of valuable office building performance data. Special studies are available on a variety of topics such as occupancy analysis, operating expenses, office tenant moves and office building cleaning. BOMA provides its members with a competitive edge through updates and reports on emerging trends, current issues, as well as industry specific seminars. This allows BOMA members to be alerted to changes well enough in advance to minimize the effect on their bottom line.

BOMA International offers a wide range of special publications on a variety of topics such as telecommunications access, ADA, leasing, and office tenants.
